Healthy Date Truffles

August 15, 2016

Healthy eating is synonymous to avoiding processed food. But our diet includes various kinds of processed food which often seems irreplaceable. And so the option available is to reduce their use or to find healthier versions especially when it comes to snacks as snacks are often loaded sugars and unhealthy fats.

Healthy Date Truffle is a nutritious and delicious snack which can be made ahead and kept for times you crave something sweet and healthy. And the good news is it is quick and easy to make too. This was found and treasured in my attempt for #365daysofhealthychoices and is a winner.

  5. Shape into small balls and roll over dessicated coconut.
  6. Keep in a dry sealed jar and enjoy.
  1. 1. Feel free with the meausrements and change according to your taste.
  2. 2. I kept it over the countertop for a week and it was fine even in this summer. You can refrigerate if needed.

  1. This is my kind of food… They’re sooo yummy though I’ve never tried adding flavouring to it… I usually just stick to the dates, nuts, coconut oil, cacao and sometimes maple syrup. Though that opens up quite a few possibilities like almond, rose, vanilla, coconut flavouring – exciting!

  2. This is my daughter’s power ball recipie. That is how I make her eat nuts lol…I mean she is only one!

Easy and tasty.. this one is!

Sahar from Oryx land life too had a similar recipe a few weeks back I think…

    1. Yes, Shahira..This is a good way to sneak in some healthy stuff for everyone. I know people who don’t eat dates as such do enjoy date balls.
And thanks for the Oryx land life link..It is similar and seems yum yum.

  3. I have everything to make these and I’ve really wanted to put the extra dates we have leftover from Ramadan to good use! Thank you for sharing – they look delicious!
